StarCraft II’s Trifurcation

As many of you have already seen, this article came out last week.

For those of you that don’t want to click on that article and read through the whole thing: basically it says is that StarCraft II is coming out as a trilogy.  This doesn’t mean that we’re getting StarCraft III later on; this means that StarCraft II is coming out in THREE installments, one for each race.

Isn’t that cute?

All three are apparently “stand-alone games.”  The first one apparently on the Terran race, the second on the Zerg, and the third on the Protoss.  At first, I was kind of confused (and mad).  Like, do we have to buy all three to play the multiplayer?  Will we only have Terran units in the first game??  Do I have to shell out sixty bucks more bucks to play as Protoss or Zerg??  Why are the minerals YELLOW in the screenshots???  This Blizzard fan was getting frustrated.

But FEAR NOT, dear (casual) StarCraft fans, this other article came out a few days ago with words of reassurance.

Summary:  so basically the multiplayer component won’t be affected; it’s just the single player campaign deal that requires the next two games.
But despite my great and deep love for StarCraft, maybe my annoyance will keep me from buying the next two “expansions.”  I mean, maybe this is getting a little too cocky, even for Blizzard.  Are we all going to be stupid sheep and just buy all three?  I say we go on strike!

Or not.  I’ll probably buy them.  Ha.  Ha.

PS. And, yes, Eva eats cereal with marshmallows.  It’s quite normal for her.
